One of my buddies recently threw out the “fact” that there is actually no LEGAL obligation for a Vegas casino to pay a winner. While it might be a public relations nightmare there is no law that states if you make a wager and win the casino is OBLIGATED to pay you. This sounds like bunk to me, and that’s what I told my friend, but I’m curious to see if anyone else has ever heard this. I know for a fact that when a person plays on credit and loses the casino can have the person arrested if they don’t pay up. But does anybody know about just a standard bet? Suppose I laid a $500K bet on blackjack, hit a blackjack, and the casino just decided not to pay me? Would that be legal?
