I keep a blackjack simulator playing against itself most of the time tweaking play strategies and testing them. The simulator I have came on a disk I bought in 1998 called Millenium Game Pack and it allows a person to set up play strategies for eight players and vary the house rules for most of the more common ones. The disk was one of those you find for $10 at Office Depot and Walmart. It was put out by BearWear.
But there are a couple of problems with it.
First, it doesn’t play on Vista. I’d like to find one that does.
Second, it doesn’t have a provision to include money management and betting [amount] strategies for each player.
Third, it doesn’t have a provision to set up player strategies to include surrender under some conditions.
Lastly, I wish it had a statistics for each player record. On the old software I take screenshots of the individual strategy cards and keep records on a spreadsheet.
I don’t care about the animations, I can live with them if I have to.
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced simulator out there that has the capabilities mentioned above? Preferably on a disk that can be ordered [I'm on a slow dialup connection].
Afterthought: The old simulator also doesn’t allow the option of setting a player to double down on a blackjack under any circumstances. I’d like to be able to put that to a test on whatever new software I get, but I’ll sacrifice most of the capabilities mentioned that aren’t on the old software just to have something that works on Vista.
