in Blackjack card counting, what does the count have to be for you to change your bet amount?

in other words, in a 6 deck game, if the true count is 4 is that good? should you increase your bet now? or should wait for bigger count number? thanks
200 to 700 a night? yah right! and what’s your dayjob? if you were making that much per night you would be hitting every casino in the world lol

  1. i don’t do it by just the count. i start with a minimum wager and have to win 5 hands in order to go up. from there, win 3 more and then keep a maximum out until either i lose or the count is totally against me. keeps paying for my trips to vegas and i fly under the pit boss’ radar with smaller bets. still make 200 – 700 a night doing this.

  2. The count that marks the point where the player has a positive EV varies by two main factors…
    -The counting system
    -The ex histing house advantage

For the Hi/Lo system which is the most common system, the change in EV per point of TC is about 0.5%, it grows slightly exponential as you reach counts above +4

for a 6 deck s17 das, a TC of +1 is sufficient for a TINY player advantage

For a 6 deck h17 das game a TC of +1.4 is sufficient for a TINY player advantage

Any tc above those numbers will be of opportunity to the player for a small measurable EV. and for every point of TC above those numbers the player will be expecting 0.5% ev on all bets placed.

If you are playing a 6 deck game, and a tc of +4 occurs, the player is holding ~1.5% advantage over the casino at the time, the average advantage for all hands played is less than that slightly, so i would be betting a lot, probably 3/4 max if not a maximum bet.
