if you beat the dealer you win the amount of your bet. if you get blackjack you will usually win one and a half the amount of your bet, depending on the table payout sometimes you will win two to one on your money. again this depends on the table odds of the table your playing on.

There are couple of ways to win. If you have black jack, then you will be paid 3:2 ($1.50 for every $1 you have bet) if you win a hand against a dealer, you will be paid equal amount to what you have bet.

You can also win by increasing a bet half way through under certain situation like doubling down (where you place equal amount to original bet for getting only 1 card. This is bit risky but, sometimes, worth taking the risk) or by splitting a hand, where you end up with 2 cards with same value and by doing so, you end up with 2 separate hands. To split, you need to put same amount as you originally bet in first place.

Insurance against dealer's ace is not really good bet as if dealer doesn't get blackjack but, a hand with higher value than yours, you lose everything you have bet. Learn the game and the rules and just take small step at a time. Good luck..

No, 1:1 means bet 1 to WIN 1, not bet 1 to return 1. So if you win you actually get 2 (your original 1 plus 1 more).
