The best way to win is not to play. Even though the house has a slight advantange, they will win in the long run.

Double when you are dealt an 11; chances are in your favor that you will get a picture card or a 10. Split if you have 2 aces or 2 picture cards if the dealer has a 5 or 6 showing (hopefully he’ll bust). As far as hitting on your numbers, see what the dealer has showing. If you are sitting at the end of the table, you can see what the last few cards have been. Some hands you are going to lose regardless. Just don’t keep taking cards, bust with a big card, and then the dealer gets small cards and wins. The other players will get ticked off.
