Blackjack dealers: are you insulted when a player bets only $1 for you to win?

I often play $5 blackjack & put $1 above my bet to tip for the dealer. I have read on some sites, if I am only going to bet for the dealer $1, it is better to tip nothing. Would you rather me tip you nothing, or just give you $5 after a session without betting on my cards for you?

  1. Ok, I’m a little confused about what you are saying, but I am SURE that every single black jack dealer wants you to do whatever makes them more in the long run.

  2. When I dealt BJ I wanted the players to put up a buck for me.. I love to gamble and of course waz rooting for them. It waz always nice to deal the larger limit tables where a 5 or 10 was a good dealer bet.
Now on the other hand.. When I’m playing BJ .. I never put a bet out there for the dealer.. Brings me bad luck.. When I have a good session with a dealer.. Their tipped accordingly. Kinda sad if you spend a hour or two with a table.. and go broke.. but the dealers came out OK.. When I win…. The dealer wins..

  3. I’m sure the dealer and casino love you for that. You basically are betting $6 every hand, and if you win, you are only winning $5. If you win the hand, the dealers are getting $2. I’m not sure where you read that. I’m sure they appreciate every tip, especially one that is 20% of your bet.

  4. bet the dollar. how do i know that you are going to tip me later? because you tell me? i just had a lousy break, i got chewed out by my pit boss for not ironing my shirt, and the jerk at the last table would put the $2.50 in his pocket and says “i don’t tip.” come on, help me out and put me in a good mood. restore my faith in society. put up the dollar. and if you split or double, split or double for me too. after all, it’s a good bet for you so it would be a good bet for me too!
