Best time to bet while card counting on a 6 deck BlackJack game?

I know you want to wait until the count is in the high “+” count, but is there a general good number to bet big on, like say +13 or +15, I usually get anxious and want to bet big when the count hits doubles. The casinos I play run 6 decks too.

  1. dont matter, casinos actually encourage wanna be card counters to come and try… casinos rotate the decks every dealer.. so dealer 1 may have a 6 decks, where as dealer 2 would have 4… so theres no real way of knowing…

and the odds of you actually walking out very ahead like in the movie.. are like 1: 100,000

and if youve been doing it for years, doesnt mean the casinos arent hip to your game… `

  2. Casinos do not change the number of decks of a open table ever. The above answer is wrong in that respect. Regardless card counting simply does not work in a modern casino for other reasons.

You asked about +13 and +15 but that makes me think you are doing it wrong. You are not converting the running count to a true count which means you’ll end up over betting sometimes and under betting others.

As far as edge you have a small edge at a true count of +1. At +5 you have a ~3%. +9 = 5% advantage. When you should increase your wagers and by how much depends on the bankroll, you comfort with variance, and the allowed bet range.

  3. True counts differ from running counts, you dont place bets on the basis of running counts, i only assume you are talkign about running counts becausue true counts of 13 and 15 in 6 deck games are EXTREMELY rare, in fact i have only played one hand at a true count of 12 in my entire playing carrer.

A true count is the running count divided by the number of decks remaining.

typically, any true count over 1 or 1.5 (depending on the rules) is in your best interest to raise your bet. For a six deck game you should have your max bet on the table by a tc of +5 or better, +4. as counts higher than that are exceedling rare

Your max bet shoudl be 8 or more times your minimum bet to yeild sizable profits.

From the fact that you are even askign this question, i can tell you know little of card counting, so stay out of the casinos, or you will fail.
