blackjack double up

blackjack double up

As you are going to win less than half the hands you play at blackjack, you need to up your bet size on hands when you see the odds are in your favor.

If you want to win at blackjack you will need to learn how to double down and up your bet when the odds are in your favor to win longer term.

Lets look at doubling down in more detail.

While playing blackjack you may be dealt two cards of equal value.

This is a great opportunity and you can then split the cards and ‘double down’. This means that after you receive your two cards, you can add an extra bet, and have effectively two hands.

Sometimes and in some casinos, you can double down on anything in your hand.

In other casinos you have to have a ten or eleven to double down, however doubling down is a favorable rule to the player.

An even more favorable rule is when the casino allows you to double after splitting This really affects the house advantage.

Say you are playing blackjack at a table that uses eight decks, and allows you to double on anything. In this case the casino advantage has dropped to -0.55%. It’s almost an equal game.

There are additional rules for doubling that can reduce or increase the casino advantage. Here are two examples:

If you double down after splitting you will reduce the house odds .13 % to -0.42

If you double down on a 10 and 11 only – .21 so you increase the house odds to -0.76 Discover a basic strategy for blackjack, and use it to determine when you should double down or not.

The strategy must be based on the math and favorable rules. Why is doubling down is so favorable?

Because if you are doubling your bet when you have the best opportunity of beating the dealer and this is the real object of the game.

Knowing when to double down should be done when you know the dealer is weak. A dealer’s up card can indicate his probability to bust. See the table below!

Dealer’s Up card 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Ace
Bust % 35 37 40 42 42 26 24 23 23 17

So a dealer’s worst up cards are the two through six. These card will see the dealer bust more than any other up cards. Knowing this, you can double down and be successful.

How about doubling down when the dealer has good up cards? Say a 9 or 10? These are really more dangerous, but in the end can pay off. You wont be winning as much as when the dealer has smaller up cards, but if your strategy calls for it, double down here too.

Don’t be afraid of losing a double bet. If you are, you are at the wrong table, and move down to a lower table minimum. This is the right play if the time is right, so bet correctly and win. A common mistake some players make is doubling down with a bet less than your original one.

Why do that?

If you doubling down, you are pretty certain you are going to win.

So why win less than you can?

Again, if you are nervous about losing a double bet, move to a table who’s minimums suit you. There are also times when nothing works. It happens to everyone. Playing blackjack is a long-term play, and you have to see the big picture.

Doubling down will give you some odds advantage, and a chance to start winning. Stick with it.

Doubling down at the correct time is a good idea, good strategy, and can be extremely profitable.

Finally, if you fail to double down at the correct moment, you only increase the casino’s odds advantage against you.

Be positive, double down correctly and win!

I’m trying to create a java blackjack game and I was wondering how do you create 4 card objects?

Not sure what you are asking…if you want an object to represent each card, or the picture of the suit. I’m assuming you need to represent the cards being delt.

public class Card extends Object {
public static int SPADE = 1;
public static int CLUB = 2;
public static int DIAMOND = 3;
public static int HEART = 4;
public static int JACK = 11;
public static int QUEEN = 12;
public static int KING = 13;
public static int ACE = 1;

public int suit;
public int number;

public Card(int suit, int number) {
this.suit = suit;
this.number = number;
}
}

Then in your deck class, you would create a card object for each card in the deck (or 8 decks for most blackjack tables). I would store these in some sort of stack (vector) and mix them up. Then when you deal a card or take a hit, you will pull the top card from the stack. Once the stack is so far gone, you reshuffle (repopulate your stack)

Blackjack is played by millions of people on the internet and at live casinos all over the entire world. Most people do not have a grasp of the blackjack rules and just jump right into blackjack games and lose all their money. If you are just starting out and want to learn blackjack rules to dominate the house, I suggest you keep reading this article.

When you play a blackjack game you compete against the dealer, not against other players. Your goal is to simply beat the dealer by having a higher hand without going over 21. If you bust the dealer automatically wins. The dealer MUST stop on the total of 17 and cannot receive another card. The values of each cards are the following: Jacks, Queens and Kings are each worth 10 points; Aces are worth either 1 point or 11 points-you get to decide, depending on what serves your hand better; cards numbered from 2 through 10 are worth their face value (i.e. a four is worth 4 points). The best hand in blackjack is a 2-card hand with a value of 21. This hand consists of an Ace and a card worth 10 points. Blackjack card counting works well also.

What are the rules for dealing Blackjack without betting.?

I want to play Blackjack for $5 a hand with some friends. Can someone please tell me the correct method of dealing? When we switch off and everything? Thanks.

When you bust twice you pass… So if the dealer bust twice.. he has to pass the cards off… draw cards to start… Ace high will start dealing once he busts TWICE… you then would pass clockwise… I would also play with more then one deck atleast 2 if not 3 or 4.

T-Mobile USA is taking the wraps off of a Wi-Fi-enabled smart phone, dubbed the T-Mobile Dash. The device will be available exclusively from T-Mobile beginning Oct. 25.The Windows Mobile-based smart phone offers an embedded instant messaging client, sports a built-in music player, features a 1.3-megapixel camera and comes equipped with an expandable memory slot.

The T-Mobile Dash provides quick and convenient access to personal and business e-mail, instant messaging and text messaging, as well as a great phone experience with speakerphone and Bluetooth connectivity for reliable hands-free use. T-Mobile Dash also includes a 1.3-megapixel camera for capturing those important moments and Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for music and video on-the-go.

The T-Mobile Dash is a myFaves-enabled phone, taking advantage of the new wireless communications experience available only through T-Mobile. Customers are empowered with a fun and easy-to-use phone interface which, when coupled with a myFaves rate plan, facilitates unlimited nationwide calling to any five U.S. phone numbers (excluding toll-free and 900 numbers).

Super sleek at just 0.51 inches thin and weighing 4.2 ounces, the T-Mobile Dash is built upon Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 5.0 plat form, including Outlook Mobile for up-to-date e-mail, calendar and contact information. T Mobile Dash also supports the Messaging and Security Feature Pack with Direct Push Technology out-of-the-box, providing instant e-mail and enhanced security features (that let you wipe a device if stolen or require high-security passwords to access information).

The Dash is T-Mobiles weapon of choice in the battle for supremacy in the ultra-thin Smart phone market currently raging between it, Cingular’s BlackJack, and Verizon and Sprints Q. While all three devices are quite similar in size and functionality, the Dash has the distinct advantage of being the only device with built-in Wi-Fi, which even Palms top-selling Treo 700 series Phone Editions lack. blackjack forum magazine

[mage lang="" source="flickr"]blackjack forum magazine[/mage]

You may have decided to jump straight from the world of land based gambling to gambling online but there are risks which you need to aware of. Jumping in headfirst, without thinking about finding the safest options means you will probably not return to the world of online gambling, which is a shame as it has so much to offer! It is also risky to get lured into a gaming site just because of the promotions and bonuses it offers ? don’t jump in without checking out the reputation of a company and the small print!

Gaming sites have to constantly attract new players, and needless to say, they are very good at it! There are many brilliant sites out there who have many happy and satisfied players, but not every site that claims to be the best is the best! So before you start playing make sure that the site you are playing on is reputable! Read articles from respected magazines which give unbiased information on the best gambling sites, and before you start playing for money make sure you talk to other players in forums and chatrooms ? they will give you firsthand (and honest) feedback about sites.

Only play on a site if you like it! A site may have had all the best reviews and feedback in the world, but if it isn’t what you are looking for, then there is no point in playing on it. For example if you like all sorts of gambling ? poker, blackjack, betting on sports etc, but absolutely love playing bingo then maybe it’s best to find a specialised site for bingo to play on separately from the casino sites. This also goes for graphics and page design ? does the site look like it has had a lot of time devoted to it or is it just thrown together? If something about the site makes you feel wary then why not call their customer services department to ask some questions, and see what kind of a response you get.

Once you have done all the preliminaries you will need to download any necessary gambling software onto your computer as a lot of sites now offer instant play software platforms such as Java and Flash in addition to the downloadable version.

Finally you will need to register with the site and fund your account. Fill out the registration form which will include such personal information as your name, address, email address, and your chosen username and password. It is at this point that most sites will allow you to play for fun before moving on to playing for money. Use this opportunity wisely ? it is best to learn before you play for real. To change to ‘real’ play, you need to deposit money into your account, which is usually a simple process ? pressing the deposit button. However the initial deposit usually involves a little bit more time ? you may have to visit the services website and open an account there, fund it and wait for the funds to clear into your new gambling account. This may seem like a bit of a hassle, but it is definitely worth it ? it is added security for the site and for you.

Once you have money in your account you start playing! Remember to keep your passwords and account information hidden away, and it is best to make a printout of all your transactions. When you are finished your session always remember to log out!

The game of blackjack is a popular gambling card game that is played all over the world. The game is one of the most popular games in live casinos you will see players crowded around the blackjack table in most casinos around the world. However, the game of 21 blackjack can also be played online in Internet casinos.

When you play online blackjack you play by the same rules as when you play the live game. If you are already familiar with the rules of the game then it is incredibly easy to get started playing Internet blackjack. Even if you don’t already know how to play blackjack it’s easy to learn how and get started playing blackjack on the web.

The game of blackjack is played against a dealer. The objective of the game is to obtain a hand that is worth a higher value than the dealer’s hand without breaking a value of 21, which is known as “busting”. Hand values are determined by adding cards together-Aces are worth 1 or 11; 2 through 10 are worth their face value; face cards are worth 10 each. Before the game begins you must place a bet. If you win you will get paid based on this bet; if you lose then you will lose the money that you bet.

After bets have been placed the blackjack game begins. The dealer gives each player 2 cards, face up. The dealer takes 2 cards as well but places 1 of them face down. Based on your 2 cards and the dealer’s exposed card you must decide to “stay” or “hit”. If you stay then you will not receive additional cards. If you hit then the dealer will give you additional cards to increase the value of your hand.

Once you have obtained your final hand the dealer exposes his face down card. Blackjack rules state that if the dealer’s hand is 17 or less, or if the dealer’s hand is worth a lower value than your own hand, the dealer will take an additional card. Once the dealer’s hand is finalized the winners will be determined. If your hand is worth a higher value than the dealers and hasn’t broken 21 then you are paid. If the dealer beats you then you lose your bet.

These are basic blackjack rules. As you play blackjack you will begin to learn more complicated rules such as splitting (in which you can split your initial 2-card hand into 2 separate hands), doubling your bet once your cards have been dealt and Insurance (in which you can place a second bet if the dealer has an up-card of an Ace so that you can break even in the event of the dealer having Blackjack).

You can play blackjack for free online in order to familiarize yourself with online casino blackjack. Free blackjack is also a great way to learn how to play this popular game before playing for real money.

Supplementary articles published by Gene Marshall about blackjack are available on the web. Pro online blackjack buff Gene Marshall is commissioned by many popular online blackjack magazines. He contributes writings about free blackjack and online blackjack.
