To Split or not to Split, Insurance, Doubling
There are players who plan to split when they have 2 cards of ten value with them. They feel that they will have a good chance of doubling their money here and will win with two hands. But they have to understand the play. They must realize that one hand of twenty has more chance of winning than going for a split of two tens.
Many players try to get insurance when they feel that they are going to lose the hand. They will try to win money on losing to a dealers blackjack. They forget the fact that they are going to lose much more money in the long run. The case is that they must pass on insurance or even money when offered by the dealer, as the casino offers very bad odds on the bet. Your short term gain is a long term loss.
Most novice players won’t understand the relevance of doubling in blackjack. They will try to hit instead. It is advisable to double on soft cards(dealer card). When the dealer shows a weak card, if the player is doubling, they have a great chance of winning more money in the long run. If a player is trying to double though when they are FEELING that they are going to win, this is a mistake.
